Infrared illumination is energy which is invisible to the human eye but can be seen by through a night vision device or true day/night camera. The energy from IR illuminators resides just outside the visible red section of the electromagnetic spectrum, above 700nm and below 1000nm.
IR illumination is an ideal source of illuminating a target area during a tactical operation due to following reasons.
- It is invisible to the human eye but visible to night vision devices used by own security forces as a covert/nonobtrusive form of illumination.
- Because it is invisible to the human eye it does not create the problem of light pollution.
- It has a longer range than visible light due to the higher wavelength (up to approx. 919’ or 280m)
All TVISA infrared illuminators are designed to provide superior IR lighting. They are available with a range of angles and distances to cover different ranges and scenes.
The TAC Series 029 are rugged and are designed for use in field condition. The casing is polymer based which provide protection from the harshest weather conditions and rapid temperature variations (-25 to + 50oC).
